A Digital Video Recorder is approximately the size of a VCR, but that's where the similarities end. With a DVR, the video is digitally recorded to an internal hard drive, instead of tape. This permits the continuous recording of the video from all cameras for days or weeks at a time. This system comes with a 120GB hard drive, which generally allows recording for up to 6 weeks, under most common recording conditions. Recording time will vary, however, depending upon quality, number of cameras recording, and recording rate. When the hard drive is full, the oldest video is deleted so that the system always has the most recent video stored for immediate playback. If you need to save any video, you can easily burn it to a CD/RW drive, (not included).

There are no tapes to maintain, rewind or replace when they wear out. Downtime for maintenance is dramatically reduced.

This DVR records video with motion/event detection, which only records when any motion in the cameras range is sensed. This saves memory and makes playback much less taxing since only video with action is viewed; no need to fast forward through tedious hours of no activity.

It features 720x484 image resolution, 120 fps display/30 fps record and has programmable recording speeds.

If remote monitoring is required, this DVR is IP addressable and can provide remote surveillance over the internet.
