This beautiful Native American style Thunder Bird is done in yellow and black size 11 seed beads. The rosette is leather backed and has a 4-strand leather braid enhanced with peyote stitch beadwork. The finishing fringe adds to its unique styling.

The Thunderbird is one of the few cross-cultural elements of Native American mythology. He is found among Plains Indians, Pacific Northwest and Northeastern tribes.The wingspan of the Thunderbird is described to be twice a long as a Native Indian war canoe. Under its wings are lightning snakes which the Thunderbird uses as weapons. The Thunderbird is a symbol of strength as well as change with the three tail feathers representing the past, present and future.
