Rejuvenate with the healing benefits of at-home spa therapies.

Water therapies involving warm water infused with deep massage have healed people around the world for centuries. Sundance hot tubs take this healing tradition to a new level by incorporating color, light, scent, music, and specialized hydromassage techniques into your hydrotherapy sessions.

Sundance hot tubs are perfect for experiencing the benefits of reflexology, chromatherapy and watsu.

  • The foot jets in many of our models are ideal for the massaging foot work involved in Reflexology.
  • The multi-colored SunGlow lighting in 880 Series spas, as well as the colored lights in the 780 and 680 Series (optional) hot tubs, cast a spectrum of mood-enhancing shades.
  • The healing art of watsu can be practiced in our large hot tubs.

Unblock the flow of energy with Sundance reflexology jet-action.

Reflexology Reflexology involves the application of deep pressure to energy channels or “reflex points” in the hands and feet. The benefits go beyond comforting relief for just those areas. Reflexology is said to loosen calcium obstructions and free the nerve pathways; one of its goals is to bring about relaxation.

• Used over 5,000 years ago in China, India and Egypt
• Manipulates specific points on patients' feet and hands to affect healing in other
   parts of the body
• Based on energy channels (qi or chi in Chinese and Japanese medicine, prana in
Hindu) that flow through specific meridians or zones in the body
• Dr. William Fitzgerald, in the early 1800s, identified each channel’s “reflex points”
and their corresponding muscles, organs and functions and plotted detailed maps
   of the hands and feet

Reflexology in a Sundance.

Reflexology Sundance jets can target specific pressure points used in reflexology. Powerful foot jets massage all areas of the feet, which contain more than 7,000 nerve endings. The Reflexology foot dome on selected models contains jets that are perfectly positioned to reach the sensitive areas of the feet.

Jets for the wrists and palms, on selected models, pinpoint nerves and muscles in the hands and wrists to loosen tension and ease blocked energy.  The jet action can also help alleviate the pain of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Sundance lights the way to good feelings.

Chromatherapy Light and color have a profound effect on our moods and peace of mind. Just as we all need exposure to sunlight, we benefit from the specific properties of the individual colors in the spectrum. Each color has its own wavelength and energy vibration.

The varieties of multi-colored in-spa lighting on different Sundance Spas models can help to create a soothing environment, a place to  go for rejuvenation. The acrylic and cabinet colors of your hot tub play an important role in establishing the atmosphere in your backyard. Consider planting colorful flowers, using brightly colored furniture and a spa umbrella, or surrounding your Sundance with shady trees. You really can set the mood with color!

Chromatherapy: Colors to promote wellness.

Colors RED: Stirs passion and the desire for transformation; increases self esteem.
YELLOW: Stimulates the intellect and inspires optimism; counters moodiness.
WHITE: Simplifies and adds clarity to the moment; repels dark feelings
GREEN: Creates a feeling of satisfaction with living in the moment; helps relieve insomnia.
BLUE: Bestows a sense of tranquility, peacefulness and contentment; promotes healing processes.
TEAL: Facilitates a balance of logic and emotion; balances emotions.
VIOLET: Promotes feelings of intimacy and inspiration; calms anxiety.
PURPLE: Invigorates creativity and appreciation of the arts; relaxes and soothes.

Ease tension with Watsu.

Watsu Watsu combines water with Shiatsu, a form of Japanese "finger pressure" massage applied to the body zones defined by chi, or the body's energy channels.

Watsu was developed in 1980 by Harold Dull, who traveled to Japan to study Zen Shiatsu, a form of massage using stretches and touchpoints to release blockages. Back in America, Dull promoted the benefits of performing Shiatsu moves and stretches in warm water. Watsu, like reflexology, can enhance feelings of well-being and relaxation. It is practiced in therapeutic clinics and spas throughout the world.

Your Sundance can be a good place to practice Watsu.

A warm spa (95 to 97 degrees F or 35 to 37 degrees C) is a perfect environment for a Watsu aquatic bodywork session. Floating in water supported by the Watsu practitioner, the Watsu receiver is gently stretched, turned and glided back and forth. Specific pressure points are manipulated and the receiver is encouraged to become more aware of taking each breath with a slow and gently rhythm. The goal is to help achieve a state of complete relaxation.
