I make stools of all shapes and sizes.  I use caning and shaker tape.  I repair chairs or stools that have damaged seats and backs.  Or I make my own stools.  Sometimes I use regular wood, or sometimes I may use tree logs that have been cured and dried in my basement.  I like a variety of stool legs, hoping to make them one of a kind, or to make them interesting and not like everyone else's might look like.  Or I can do similar types, to make them look as others may have.  But, I prefer the one of a kind look, when possible.  I am not an individual that can pop them out quickly, or all alike.  They are made, one at a time, by me.

I enjoy making little stools for little children.  They seem to like having a stool, just their size, that they can carry around with them.  I am just attempting to give it an old way of preserving our heritage, back when they didn't always have access to buy brand new wooden seated chairs or enough wood to make a solid stool.  Just wanted to bring in a small part of our past into present day living.
