  • The ordinary life of the people is agricultural based but is affected by drought and famines.   Therefore most of the time agricultural becomes failure.
  • Naturally, most of the population lives below poverty line.
  • Literacy and education among them is as low as 24%.
  • Indians believe that one of the best ways to break the poverty cycle is through education. 
  • English is taught in most schools knowing that this will help them enter the business world.

The Forgotten Children Center in India

  • The School of Excellence in Kurnool, India partners with Forgotten Children and houses 94 children from grades 1-6.
  • Forgotten Children has sponsors for 13 of the 94 children at The School of Excellence.
  • This residential school is run by local nuns and priests, giving them the best Catholic education in hopes that they will positively influence their country after they graduate. 
  • Their goal is to add 1 grade level each year and grow to house 600 children.
