QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q: What is Miss Earth?
A: Miss Earth is an international system and one of the 3 major pageants in the world! Over 80 countries compete in the world finals each year, including the United States.
Miss Earth contestants compete in swimsuit, evening gown and interview rounds. Once they win the title, they work year round as ambassador of good causes, especially environmental and humanitarian efforts.
Miss Earth stands for strong family and community values and enpowerment. Our pageants recognize not only the physical appearance of contestants but their intelligence, leadership quality and altruism.
The pageants are for young women with a drive to succeed in their personal and professional lives and the will to make a difference in the world. Our contestants are beautiful inside out and role models in action.

If you are looking for a pageant that looks beyond appearances and acknowleges women for more than a pretty face, then Miss Earth is for you!

Q: Is there a fee to enter the pageants?
A: Yes. In order for us to provide all our contestants and audience with a great show, as well as prizes and gifts, we do have a pageant fee.
The pageant fee for 2012 is $499 and includes your crown, sash, a local title, hotel accommodations, meals, events and many gifts, as well participation in the State pageant and the opportunity to advance all the way to the world finals representing the United States! This is the ONLY fee contestants will have to cover in order to enter the pageant. No ad sales, no item purchase.

You can also compete in preliminary pageants that qualify you to state. Please check the list of preliminary pageants to get more information on which events are coming up and where or ask us at info@earthfloridapageants.com

For Little Miss Earth Keepers participation (ages 4 to 10) , the fee is $150 and includes sash and crown.

For Junior Miss Earth Florida (ages 11 to 13), the fee is $225.

All fees are non-refundable.

Q: How do I become a contestant?

A: First, make sure you meet ALL the requirements for your division:
If you do meet all the requirements, then you can request an application from us here.
You can also choose to compete in a preliminary pageant in your area.

Email us for a complete list of preliminaries: info@earthfloridapageants.com

Q: Will I be required to sell any tickets or ads?
A: NO! You are not required to pay or sell anything once you have become a contestant.
If you or your family wish to have an ad in the program book, this is optional. Please request rate sheet if interested.
If your friends and family want to come support you the day of the pageant, they can purchase tickets from us online starting at $30.

Q: How many winners will there be?
A: In the Teen and Miss divisions, we'll have 4 finalists and 1 winner per division. Whoever wins in each division becomes the official Miss Earth Florida or Teen Earth Florida winner and will travel to nationals to represent us. The rest of the court also gets sash and crown and titles: Miss/Teen Fire Florida, Miss/Teen Water Florida, Miss/Teen Air Florida.

Q: What are the competition categories?
A: For Miss and Teen, there are 4 categories:

-Swimsuit
-Evening gown
-Interview
-Overall impression

Q: What does "environmental focus" mean? Does that mean I have to be an expert on that topic?
A: Some pageants support specific charities or causes and the winners use those causes as their pageant platform. In our case, it means our winners work in promoting different environmental and humanitarian efforts in Florida, like the protection of animals, reusing items to donate to underprivileged families, preserving our beaches and the Everglades and similar efforts. Our mission is to educate others on how to protect our resources and how to help one another, as well as become leaders in our communities among other causes we support. You are NOT required to know about the topic or have any experience. We just require you have the will and motivation to become a great role model.
