Melinda Copp is a freelance nonfiction book ghostwriter based in Bluffton, South Carolina. She specializes in helping aspiring authors get clear on the real story they were meant to tell, organizing their material in a powerful way, and then using the client’s ideas to write an engaging and compelling book that delivers their big message.

Melinda’s first ghostwriting gig was working as a professional ghostwriter’s editorial assistant. Since then, she’s had three children, started her own editorial business, and ghostwritten ten books on a wide range of topics. Recent projects include:

• A high-level college athlete’s memoir about pushing too hard to succeed, burning out, and then returning to the sport she loved with a more balanced outlook on life and competition.
• A professional speaker’s motivational book for women who are stuck in negative thought patterns and cycles of failure.
• A retired heart surgeon’s memoir about being raised abroad, fleeing political revolution in Iran, and working to advance the cardiac surgery field in the sixties and seventies.
• A breast cancer survivor’s memoir about her family history with the disease and reclaiming womanhood after her mastectomy.
• A doctor’s nutrition and wellness lifestyle book for people suffering from chronic degenerative disease.
• A book of real-world, unconventional wisdom on entrepreneurship and how to succeed in any business by two successful tech entrepreneurs.

Melinda is most interested in ghostwriting memoir and self-help books for commercial reading audiences. She has an MFA in creative nonfiction writing from Goucher College and a BS in journalism from West Virginia University. 

When Melinda isn’t ghostwriting and working with her clients, she’s probably playing with her kids outside, reading a book, or working tirelessly on her own manuscript.
