About Free to Be
Imagine an America where our young people no longer understand and appreciate the value of freedom. Imagine that all those who gave their lives for our country have been virtually forgotten. Picture entire generations of youth apathetic toward preserving America’s legacy of freedom and opportunity........This is the America of today.
Thomas Jefferson said “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” But, have we been vigilant, or have our children been allowed to take freedom for granted? How can you and I be sure they will be committed to protecting our liberties for future generations? Recent studies show that young people rank “being a good American” among life’s lowest priorities. That’s why the Free to Be program was founded: to inspire our nation’s youth to recognize, embrace, and preserve the heritage of freedom that America has embodied for over two and a quarter centuries. How? By using an entertaining, interactive, nonpolitical approach presented in a youthful language and style…delivered on stage, in person, at school.

The Mission that Matters
Free to Be is a dynamic, unforgettable program incorporating live speakers, emotional video, powerful music, and eye-catching graphics into a 50-minute presentation which we personally take to high school and middle school assemblies across the country: rural schools, urban schools, small schools, large schools, public schools and private schools. These assemblies are designed to give students special perspective and a true appreciation of the freedoms we so often take for granted. Most importantly, the Free to Be program challenges young people to participate in the care and preservation of our great nation. Can any endeavor be more important?
