Fritillaria

Fritillaria have bell-shaped flowers which hang downwards from the top of upright stems.  Grow them in a rock-garden, in the border or in a woodland garden.  Plant immediately upon receipt in rich well-draining soil.  Deer and rodent resistant.  April-May.

Fritillaria Meleagris have nodding, bell-shaped checkered reddish purple to pure white flowers. Other names they go by are: Guinea Hen, Checkered Lily and Snakes Head Fritillary. They do best in moist soil.

Fritillaria Persica has up to 30 bell-shaped plum to mahogany purple flowers encircling each of its 2-4’ stalks. An easy plant to grow in full sun with deep, rich, well-drained soil, but it dislikes wet soils. Excellent placed at the back of the garden or along fences, the flower stalks are long lived, looking great for several weeks.
