How easy will it be to install the RV cover I order?

Installation must be done with two people. Installation instructions are sent with every order. In the event the instructions are lost, e-mail us immediately and instructions can be sent via e-mail.  You will need a ladder to install the cover. Although it is not recommeneded to climb on the roof, many of my customers say that is the easiest way to install the cover. It is also not recommended to install the cover on a windy day. Our covers have a great deal of material and with wind you might find yourself being pulled by the wind.
The covers are packaged to roll out on to the roof of your RV. Line up the cover making sure that you have the right side out. Roll the cover along the midlle of the roof. Then roll the top toward both of the edges of the roof. It should easily roll down the sides. Depending on whether you have a D-ring & rope system or an integrated strap system, you might need to attach the buckles to straps. If you have a toss bag then you can put the straps inside the toss bag and then toss ithem to the other side. This prevents you from having to crawl under your RV.

How do you install a Goldline RV cover on a Class A motorhome?

SAFETY Installation and removal is safer and easier when done by two people. Installation may require working from the roof of the RV. Never install on a windy day or when the RV roof is slippery. Please take care when you are on a ladder or the roof.
INSTALLATION
1. Cover or tape any sharp edges on your trailer that could wear against your cover. Be sure to lower any roof antennas.
2. Unroll the cover next to your trailer. The GOLDLINE logo should be to the front of your RV and facing outside. Unzip the passenger side and back panels.
3. On smaller RV’s your cover can be installed with ladders or by pulling it over the sides with tie ropes (Be sure not to snag the cover on the top).  On larger RVs, it’s easier to install your cover from the roof. Carefully climb up on top of the roof pulling the cover up with you. Lower the front of your cover down over the front then move to the back pulling the cover and letting the cover fall down the sides. Put the ladder cap on top of the ladder to reduce stress on the cover in that spot. Then pull down the cover in the back.
4. Zip all the panels closed on your cover then pull the elasticized corners down over both bumpers of your RV.
5. Attach and adjust the tensions straps of your cover for a snug fit. Do not over tighten.
NOTE: Your cover may be equipped with loops on the front corners and wide web strapping. If a tighter fit is desired in the front area, insert the webbing through the loops and use it to pull the cover together. Adjust as necessary.

Will I be charged Sales Tax?

We collect Georgia sales tax for orders shipping to a Georgia address only. So, if you do not ship your order to Georgia, you will incur No Sales Tax when you shop with RV Covers Protect.

Is it OK to cover my RV with a plastic tarp?

Do NOT use a plastic tarp to cover your recreational vehicles. It is especially important to remember this in high heat areas because the plastic cannot breathe. Most commercial tarps are made of plastic. Without a breathable fabric like polypropylene, it has been suggested that tarps may cause damage to the inside your motor home or camper.

What is the difference between the fabrics that are sold at RV Covers Protect?

The Poly Pro III and the Expedition have three layers of woven polypropylene that  is strong, breathable, water repellent, and forms an excellent barrier against damaging UV rays, airborne pollutants, tree sap, and bird droppings. The Goldline cover is the most advanced product, developed after years of research. It is made to provide superior UV protection  and its extra strength fabric offers superior tear resistance. PermaPro covers are made of polyester and are a lighter weight fabric that reduces the bulk and makes for easier installation. The Poly Pro I and the Traveler RV cover are made of a single layer of polypropylene and serve as a dust cover with very little UV protection.

All of the moderate to superior covers have an air vent system that reduces wind stress and vents inside moisture.  Click HERE to see a You Tube video that describes the differences in the Poly Pro 3 and Expedition and the Goldline.

Why Do You Need the Protection of an RV Cover?

The RV cover protects the exterior of your motor home from dust and dirt as well as bird droppings and tree sap. The motor home cover reflects the infrared rays to keep the temperatures lower inside the RV and blocks the UV rays that cause cracking and fading of the exterior design. This damage is easy to see after your motor home has spent just a short amount of time exposed to weather and the elements which then adds another chore to your list, the washing and waxing of your RV. With an RV cover you are able to maintain the appearance of your RV and preserve its resale value. Acid rain helps to create the appearance of those black streaks that are extremely hard to eliminate. Our RV covers allow the moisture to escape which prevents mold and mildew from settling on the exterior. It also protects the critical roof surface and the roof-mounted accessories from the environmental elements. These RV covers provide a portable alternative to expensive indoor storage.

What is the difference between a custom fit, a contour fit,  or a universal cover?

A universal cover is like a generic “one size fits all” mass produced cover. The custom fit cover is made to the dimensions of your RV. Custom fit covers fit the RV better with less movement thereby reducing the wear on the RV. With a custom fit cover there is better access to the doors and they have the better warranties. They also are very expensive. The covers at RV Covers Protect are all semi-custom fit (contour fit) to your RV or trailer.  A contour fit covers the general dimensions of all RV makes and models.

Will the cover allow me access to my RV when it is covered?

The inexpensive brands usually do not have zipper access. Most of the middle of the road and the high end RV covers have at least three zippered sections on both sides of the cover so that you can use a zipper to gain access to your RV, the storage areas, and the engine. Toy hauler RV covers have access to the back of the trailer.
