“For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the protected never know.”

How We Can Help

As your senior senator from Nevada, I take enormous pride in my constituent services staff who work in Reno, Las Vegas, Ely, and Washington, D.C. In 2017, our constituent services operation closed nearly 2,000 cases. For us, it’s about ensuring we help as many Nevadans as possible serving as their strongest voice in Washington, and in all aspects of the federal government. That is why I am sharing the various services our offices provide to all Nevadans.

Help with a Federal Agency

I know how frustrating it can be to navigate a claim or request through a federal agency. My staff is able to act as facilitators, and sometimes advocates, to help with a wide range of issues including Medicare and Social Security, to veterans, military, immigration, and housing. For example, we recently helped Nevada veteran JC Ward track down lost military medical records.

U.S. Service Academy Nominations

Each year, I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people from Nevada to one of the four of the five U.S. Service Academies. Those academies include the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. A nomination is not needed for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Flag Requests

Whether it’s to honor a new Eagle Scout, recognize an anniversary or some other special occasion, many Nevadans request American flags to be flown over the U.S. Capitol. Those requests can be done through our Washington, D.C. office and online.

Internships

In Washington, our internships run throughout the fall, spring, or summer semesters for college students only. Although all internships in our office are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience and learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a U.S. Senate office. Responsibilities include legislative research for the Member and legislative staff, attending hearings and briefings, answering constituent letters, and providing general support to the office and staff.

Request A Tour In Washington

My office can also assist in scheduling a personal tour of the U.S. Capitol building, including the House and Senate chambers, where federal laws are made. We can also help arrange tours for some of the city’s most popular historic sites such as the White House, Pentagon, Bureau of Engraving and Printing (the ‘Mint’), and Department of the Treasury.

Contact Us

In closing, I am always looking for an opportunity to hear your concerns and ideas for solutions to the challenges we face in Nevada.

To contact our offices via phone: Washington at (202) 224-6244, Reno at (775) 686-5770, or Las Vegas (702) 388-6605. Visit our website by going to: www.heller.senate.gov.
